(With IS and live view this lens is easier to use on the SONY A7ii than on my M9. Are there other R users here in this thread ? )

A nothing shot.
Taken from a lay-by on the A3 south of Hindhead.
Canadian Maple. Part of a memorial.
I'll try to explore more when I get the chance.
Q3

Every Autumn, the leaves of the 418 Canadian maple trees lining the A3 on Bramshott Common turn a vibrant red, a natural tribute to the 418 Canadian servicemen who were stationed in this area during the World Wars. These soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom, and their memory lives on in the iconic Canadian maple trees that grace this landscape.

Leica users - how do you deal with lack of tele lens? AFAIK, there is no longer lens for M mount, is that right? Longest I know is Voigtlander 110mm, there was also som eold Leica 135mm lens I think.
Do you feel any need for long lens?

I know there's a 70-200mm f2.8 std lens in L mount which can be extended to 400mm with the x2 TC, not sure if there's a specific L >M mount adapter from Leica....If you need longer you could use a generic adapter and use most teles via an adapter.

For the M System Ithe longest I use routinely is a 75mm which is plenty for what I use my Ms for (landscape/travel/documentary) I do have both the 90mm and 135 for the M System but rarely use them and never routinely take them out. My go-to FLs are 21mm, 35mm & 75mm they cover pretty much anything I want to shoot with my M9s although I will often take with me a 28 & 50 but don't often use them.

FWIW I don't shoot particularly long lenses with my Fuji gear either my longest for my GFX System is the 100-200 which tops out at 158mm equiv and on my X-T2s I have the 50-140 plus 1.4 converter (which gets almost 300mm equiv) but again rarely use them my 10-24 and 16-55 cover 95% of what I want to shoot.

Hi, my longest M mount lens is the Elmar 4/135. But with a Leica R - M adapter you can use LEITZ tele lenses.

My longest R mount tele is the LEITZ TELYT-R 5,6/400.

However, you should have an M Leica with live view for this.

The LEITZ Elmar-R 4/180 is still a good lens, even by modern standards, I think. - On the M9 it is not much fun to use.

However on a cam with live view, IS and high ISO it is more fun. But it has a very shallow DoF, making focusing not easy.

My DSLRs with AF zooms are more fun, and result in more keepers.

Got a Tair 11a 135mm f2.8 today, a couple test shots from this evening.

I had the 135mm leitz and a 100mm leitz (with bellows).
However I swapped to Sony 7rm5... and the googles stopped the 135mm, the 100 I sold to b&h in nyc for a pitance and got a 90mm iaowa (which is very good btw).
and I use an m42 135 tair 11a.
If I can get a good r lens 35mm perhaps... then I can start reposting in here :D

Hi, 35mm and 50mm LEITZ R lenses have reasonable prices on ebay. I just checked.

It's very nice. I am enjoying seeing photos from the Q cameras having just picked up a Q2. I haven't used it out the house yet due to commitments and weather. Wondering how I will get on with the 28mm

I was mainly a 35mm shooter, it took a few months to adjust to the 28mm, but I'm not afraid of cropping to suit if required, there are plenty of megapixels!

The Qs are fanstatic cameras, I get excited about the shots from my Fuji's and then the Q3 has the capability to take them to another level!
