First time out with a camera for ages ( Unless you include Saturdays outing with my Sony where ever pic was ruined by multiple spots ! :() My very trusty Nikon point and shoot at work and on my journey home .

Some kind Guerilla Knitter has given the Post box a nice warm hat ( He must get cold out there !)

I'm just about ( Next week) to fit a new hardwood front door and frame after the supposedly brilliant and everlasting composite front door swelled up and split everywhere, It was composite, crappy plastic over chip board ! But I'm sure it will not look this spectacular !

The detail in the fittings is fantastic !

I washed my dear old estate, repaired and MOTed by BOSCH for € 599,32. Choosing a successor would not be easy. Standard models do not have a V8 engine anymore.

Only AMGs have V8s, but theses are only 4 litres, and have 612hp, which is more than I need ... :

When it was ready, it started to rain, so I went home ... :

Hi, Diesel prices have come down recently. Before, it was more expensive than regular fuel.

German nomenclature is a little confusing. Super E10 was Normalbenzin in the past. E10 means it contains 10% biofuels. Super has 5%.

With rising food prices, there is a discussion about abolishing the "green biofuels" in car fuels. But in Germany a Green party is part of the coalition government,
and green parties have difficulties taking rational decisions. We shall see ... (All fuels are unleaded here.)

The greatest part of our fuel prices are all sorts of taxes ... ---

My house is a listed building - built in 1739. It has an arch which connected it to another building, which was demolished in the early 20th century to build a Carnegie library. This arch was boxed in and a 'feature' built in the 1980s.

After some procrastination about what we want to do, we've decided to demolish the boxed in arch and doorway, to see what the arch looks like underneath. We'll possibly use the bare stone as a feature in what comes next if the stonework is in good condition.
