Pic(s) you took today - an open thread

I went out to play with an old but new to me and cheap 28mm lens.

100% crop from a picture taken at just before minimum focus distance.

Ohhh I really like 2 and 6. And seeing 3 makes me think I dont seem many against the light shots these days, it was really popular at one time. Funny how photography goes in trends.

Thank you, Against the light/backlit can be very nice :D I have had the comment "I wouldn't have taken that picture" before in another place but life is short and sometimes memories are into the sun/light :D I did have to wait for the boy to run into the picture and I did want the bird further in but it wasn't to be :D

They rarely do what you want. When recently in London I saw an interesting street in Knightsbridge. I could see an interesting, brightly dressed character in the distance. He would really make the shot. I waited and waited as he got closer, just before he reached where I wanted him, he walked into a restaurant. Aaargh!

Blue skies this morning and a non-rain day ahead

Just playing around this evening with a 1936 Leitz Elmar 5cm f/3.5 LTM lens from a leitz, (Leitz) II body - put the lens on my M240 using the M to LTM adaptor

an image from a walk along a local lane - just an illustration image nothing special

You can do wonders in Lightroom

(lens won't focus to infinity - it's just short - I need to "persuade" it)

Bagged another couple of churches today while out working.

dsc_3993_53798098439_o.jpg

This one has a stone feature inside that is very unusual......

Basically it is the stone lid from a stone coffin. I have never seen one so ornate and it is limestone. The church is in an area of granite with no local limestone.

And the carvings appear to be at least thousand years old....

The second church has been modified over the years. The architect must not have had a laser....
