weekly Snipet's Photo52: Week 12 - USED JOKER (Added To 1st Page)

Very good interpretation on the theme it came out really well, as I was there I know how hard it was for you to get it done, and not forgetting the model licking her lips.

It was like the advert years ago about not licking your lips while eating a donut good to watch.

Just looked at your tighter crop and think it’s better but well done for not changing your picture:clap: it’s all about learning and getting better for the next time.

I really cant make my mind up between the two pictures, the second was what i was aiming for. And I think its an amazing shot (Not being big headed at all) and possibly the better one, but I kept on coming back the the shot I've used because of the eyes.
But the shot I chose is the one I'm sticking to as it is the one I posted first.

Great take on sweet and superbly shot, am always a little envious of people who can work with models, and know how to get the best out of them

Imaginative and original take on the theme. Well done (y)

My main area's of photography are macro and landscape, but when a meet was announced for a model shoot at Forton Studio I jumped at the chance to try something new.
Didn't really have any idea what I was doing apart from a very specific idea. All the praise should go to the studio guys who set up the lighting, the model and the make-up artist. All I did was press a button.

Hi Gareth some great images here for the start of your 52. All bang in theme and very well executed. My favourite has to be your sweet shot. The almost fluorescent blue of her lips contrasts very well with her pale skin and dark eyes. (y) look forward to seeing more if your work.

I like Sweet but think maybe you have cut the eyes in the wrong place, although not the focus of the image I find them a little distracting.

4 really good shots there.

I really like the sense of motion captured in the falling glass, and Sweet is a cracking shot! Excellent colour and DOF which really holds the focus on her lips.

Keep it up!

Hmmm, not really sure about sweet - looks a bit too "slutty" instead. (for want of a better word)

Technically a nice shot but agree that cropping across the eyes could have been avoided though.

Hehe, that maybe why I kept coming back to it. The different shot with a different crop is alot less 'slutty'.

Hi Gareth....

Sweet...really like this one....seems well lit to me...the blue reminds me of Raspberry Slush puppies:LOL: & sounds like you had fun doing the shot...great stuff  more of the eye's would have been nice but thats minor & you've still done far better than I could have :)

Fear...yup , another feeling I know ell...like the motion blur...well caught...

Great start to your 52, trying to catch up with all the posts, well done with all your images one of the best so far on the 52.

Hi, missed yours because you're posting in the initial thread.

Fear... I can imagine your  when you saw the size of it. The narrative, allbeit unintended, helps for me. It's well composed and I like the slight glisten on the bottom of the question mark.

Sigh, yeah, like it. I did something for last year's TP52 but it didn't work that well. Right ammount of blur and well done. Just rarther the draw handles weren't there.

Sweet, "painstakingly placing sugar all over Susan's lips" hard life being a togger :D Best so far. I'd like to see her tongue out a tad more (not too salacious). Can't decide whether I'd like to see all her eyes

Cheers.

Omg, slush puppies . I used to love them, ah those were the days.

Hehe, wasn't me that placed the sugar. Had the make-up artist do it for me, but we both had fun taking the shots.
I know what you mean about the tongue, but each time we tryed she couldnt help but lick all the sugar off her lips

Hi Gareth, still attempting to get to as many threads as possible, so apologies for not getting to yours earlier.

Can't really add anything more to the comments that have already been made, apart from a cracking start to your 52. Great interpretations on all themes, especially sigh which I found hard to come up with an idea. My fave so far is sweet, love the shot and the colour of the sugar on the lips.

My very early entry to this weeks 'Secure' added to page 1.
As always all comment and critique most welcome.

I had the feeling everything would be padlocks this week and how wrong I was. I'm liking the idea very original and a good representation on secure well done.

Neat thinking Gareth, i like the way you have portrayed it too. ;)

Thanks Alby, Would rather have waited a few days before trying the shot or posting it up, but my memory is terrible. So had to take it while I remembered what I wanted.
I must be getting old and starting to lose my memory, I'll be like you oldies soon enough :exit:

Hi,

Firstly sorry i have not commented before i must of missed this, great photos. I love week 4 sweet shot. Week 5 is a great idea, i think a green colour would suit the picture better IMO.

Thanks

Matt

Nice idea on 'secure' - I have to admit that a green shade would work well but very well done.

Bugger, are they normally green then.
Ah poo. :bonk: :bang: :bat: :annoyed:
Grr, ah well I've posted it blue so I'm going to stick with my first post as par my personal rules. But I will remember this in-case I come back to retry this shot at a later date.

Hi Gareth,

I'm sorry I've not been here yet, I'm trying to catch up.

Wk1.. I like your angel pointing to the heavens, it's a lovely shot. I do agree that it's a tad underexposed but it's a nice interpretation of the theme.

Wk2.. The fear of the unknown. I wasn't sure about the question mark but it certainly asks a question.

Wk3.. Sigh, excellent idea and a nice pic. It'd be curses in our house because it'd never be caught :)

Wk4.. Really really love those sugary lips and the tongue about to lick them clean. Great colour and contrary to some others I like the focus.

Wk5.. Have you published this shot? I thought I'd seen it or one like it before but I've no idea where I might've done. I may be imagining that! I do like it though, and I do like it in the blue. It's a nice departure from the Matrix'y green.

Really good original idea and well taken.
As already said I think green would have worked better and maybe the squares all facing the same way

Hi

The sweet lips are lovely and so sharp and the tongue adds to the impression of sweetness. I have looked a it a few times and i think that i like the eyes in that position as they seem sultry and enhance the theme.

But I must admit that i don't get the hand pic. Sorry:)

Nothing to be sorry for at all, would rather some one asked or commented than just think WTH is that meant to be/mean.
The idea was originally for a finger print scanner, as in a high tech locking mechanism (Hence secure). But the shot really didn't look right using just a finger, so I tried with my whole hand and I really liked it.
Its supposed to resemble the hand print scanners you would find in high security area's (like to 007's bedroom ).

Fantastic view on secure I really like the processing you have done

Great bit of pp on secure, it works very well indeed. Like the pic.

Thanks for the comments, as said earlier there is a fair bit more PP on this shot than the others, but it really did need it to match what I visualized the picture to look like. But it still closely resembles the original shot, so im still sticking to my rules, ;)

Secure - I like this and it's an original idea for the theme. I also don't mind the blue colour it makes a change from the Matrix green. I wonder how many years it will be before we have one of these scanners to get into our houses!!
