So so disheartened with my studio shots. Cannot seem to eliminate blur. Please help.

the difference between full-frame and APS-C is around 12% on average
FF like my D800 or my D4? For the same size print or full resolution?
I know the answers and how they interact; my point is there are too many variables when you get into "subjective" things. Personally I feel there is almost no point in having a D800 (D600/D7200 etc etc) if you are not going to be using those MP's to print very large for exactly the reasons you mention. But if you are using them to print very large then the FF/pixel size advantage *disappears in most aspects.

* I should qualify that as "when comparing images w/in native resolution and not requiring enlargement which means different sized print.

Either, or both.

What I mean is, if you increase resolution demands by 1.5x to account for the crop factor, say from 24 lines-per-mm to 36 lines-per-mm, then lens contrast will typically drop by around 12%. That's why FF is sharper than APS-C, and it's too much to pull back in post-processing.

Way off topic now!
