Show us yer film shots then!

YO !! I gave my Lovely 1969 ROLLEIFLEX 3.5 F Planar an outing the Chelmsford loaded with 2002 dated Fuji NPC 160 rated at 100ASA and home-processed in C41 -- the STATUE was in a Garden Center in the Springfield area and others were in Admiral's Park and Central Park

Ilford FP4+
Ilfotec DD-X 1+4 @ 20° 10mins

This first shot is pretty grainy for FP4+, especially compared to the second shot from the same roll. I suspect scanning shenanigans... :)

Someone needs to tell me how they are converting their images for web as mine look atrocious by comparison.

I just export from Lightroom at 2000 pixels on the long side and upload to Flickr.

I suspect you will have some subject movement on the ferry, at 1/30s, as I have on the steam roller at 1/60s

Taken last year at Bourton on water (Cotswolds) as an e.g. what we all face when a beautiful place is flooded with tourist even out of season..well I gave up trying to get IMO a VG picture and just took a few record shots. :(

I went out to Bristol Centre on Saturday & actually shot a whole 11 film frames!! In one day!!! :$ :ROFLMAO:

Finished the roll. Dropped it off in the shop/lab on the walk home. Scans emailed through midday today - Monday!

I still might buy a JJC or Valeo set up for A7Riii scanning though.......

Using a 'GIFT' PENTAX ME I loaded with outdated Kodak T-Max 400 rated down to 250ASA and processed in home-made Kodak D23 Formula 1+1 for 12.5 mins @ 20oC RESULTS -- Intermittent FAULT with shutter -- some frames BLANK as if they had not been exposed - some UNDER - Exposed badly but THESE I got were better BUT they gad very poor GRAIN -- do you think D23 is not good for T-max 400 ?

Lovely image, but these are very very grainy for FP4+ in my experience. I'm getting this sort of grain with Rodinal 1:50 :) I would expect DD-X to return less grainy results.

Are these perhaps a little overdeveloped? In my experience, overdevelopment leads to stronger perceived grain. Have you tried either

  1. diluting further and keeping time at 10 mins (e.g. 1:10 or so - but I've neer used DD-X so this is just a ballpark)
  2. keeping this dilution but doing 8 minutes and half or so
How do the negatives look like? Are the highlights quite dark?

It's quite possibly my development (possibly this specific batch as I have other rolls of 135 FP4+ that have less grainy results). Sometimes scanning can exacerbate the grain too, I've found.

I rarely diverge from the Massive Dev Chart app in terms of timings, and I don't use FP4+ all that often to have had the opportunity to experiment. Plus, I really don't enjoy the developing process, so the desire to experiment isn't really there either.

These are from a first trial of 510 Pyro from Zone Imaging at standard 1:100 ratio, taken on Nikon F80, Tamron 28-75mm, Delta 100. The negs were amongst the most speckly I've ever seen and needed a great amount of spotting, but that may well be down to my technique so I'll reserve judgement for now.
