The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I have been given an olympus fit manual focus lens and need an adaptor so I can use it on my fuji body.
I don't want to spend a lot as I don't imagine I'll be using it a lot but any recommendations as to what to buy?
Amazon has a few - there is this one K&F Concept OM to FX Compatible para Lens Mount Adapter for Olympus Zuiko OM Mount Lens to Fujifilm Fuji X FX Mount Camera for Fuji XT2 XT20 XE3 XT1 X-T2 https://amzn.eu/d/jl7EVfT
Is there any reason to spend any more?
Does anyone have something they no longer want and want to sell it (via the proper channels obviously)

I have used several K&F adapters in the past with no issues.

This one is £10 cheaper:

I bought an M42 adaptor for a Helios lens and just went for the cheapest I could get, it's been absolutely fine. It wouldn't surprise me if they were all made in the same place, tbh.

Cool, thanks!

Hello everyone. More advice required, please....:)

I've just been getting into using Lightroom. I shoot with an XT-5 mainly landscapes. I use LR Classic on my mac. The last few times I have imported the RAW files and I have been messing around with processing, if I use the sky pre-sets (dark drama, blue drama, blue pop etc) I get spots on the photos. I thought they could be dust on the sensor so I tested by using f/22 and 125 ISO and taking a picture on white paper and a blue sky. Nothing there so I was happy but processing after today, the same thing is happening.

Any ideas of what is happening and how to resolve please.

Many thanks

It could well be the preset being a bit over-agressive, you have the option above the presets to alter the aggressiveness of teh preset, try playing with that and see if it goes away

Hi, I’m new here and have just pre-ordered a Fuji X100VI.
Anyone know what the likely wait time is?
Did you go for a different colour this time? It might make a difference ;)

Let’s hope it comes sooner than that - I’ll either have changed my mind or died by then :sneaky:

I’ve gone with silver again - it worked out ok last time and didn’t have to wait very long at all (y)

Using man maths as we all know that’s how the world works - I paid £1599 in March, owned it approx 6 months and got £1500 from MPB.

So it only cost me £99 to ‘rent’ it for 6 months.

That's exactly how I look at things :)

It's about three years since I've posted any pic's on this thread but I mentioned a little while ago that I'd been looking at Fuji kit again as I'd given most of my Fuji cameras away and just kept the lenses. Well I've been playing around with some Fuji gear again and have snapped a few pic's during this year with it. Here's the first pic' and yes I know it's not much of a pic' but it's a start. :)

Welcome back, George

Thanks Mate, I'll probably manage to bring the standard of photography down a few notches on this thread but somebody's got to hold the lower end up. :)

"As long as I'm able to carry a bit of Fuji gear then I'll contribute some pic's to this thread. After that then I guess it's back to studio work which is tugging very hard at me at the moment as it gets colder"

Tell me about it. I'm resigning myself to get my head around more things to shoot (and try out) indoors.
Too old for going out n about in the freezing bloody cold ;)

Hopefully @Garry Edwards will continue his "Lighting Challenges", so that will keep me busy learning new techniques.

What is the consensus on the X100s in 2024?

Compared to the latest model, is the image quality going to be the difference between night and day or are the differences just megapixels and features?

I really like the idea of the X100 line of cameras for city/street style photos and I'm seeing the X00s going on mpb for between £500 and £600, given how they seem to hold their value, if I don't get on with it, I can sell it on without loosing much at all...

I have an 'f' - since Jan/Feb. I'm not overly desperate to upgrade to a Vi, that's not to say I never would, but it's not something I really think about.

For me and what I use the X100f for, I think the main gain would be the IQ (megapixels & lens wide open) and improved AF - certainly not things that are, right now, worth 1000 ;)

A cheap used older model can be a good way to try the series out. But also, financially, an X100Vi could also be a good way to try the series out :ROFLMAO:

I'd love to buy the X100Vi, but I can't justify the cost, though I would get a few days of peace and quiet when the wife stops talking to me! :D

I've been thinking about getting a used X100 of some variety for a couple of years, maybe I'll wait until after Christmas, the urge to buy one may pass again!

The sensor in the S renders very nicely, but the AF is very pedestrian (by current standards), so zone fiocussing will be the way to go for street work.

The lens is quite soft at F2 when used close up - it certainly sharpens up as you stop it down. The F used some softwrae tricks to gte it sharper at F2 and the V/VI are a different lens.

I prefer the rendering of the earlier X series sensors and it is certainly accepted as being less digital (and yes we can argue about that!) - I have an original X100 and an X-Pro1 - and I feel that from X-Trans III teh sensors certainly 'lost' something, tahts not saying they are bad cameras but the images loose some of their charm.

You'd definitely lose less money & easily sell on a Vi ;)

I was the same though. Wanted to try an X100 variant for many, many years - probably since the original or at least the S. Got the chance to pick up a well priced F at the beginning of this year so took it!

It's been a while since I had my X100S, but I'm more than happy with the photos I've gotten from it. It still has a lot of the core features of the newer X100 cameras and handles pretty much the same, but won't be as performant. IMO, worth getting if you're set on an X100.
