This would have been the early - mid 90's.
Within 5 years they were saying that the kites were far more successful than they ever imagined, and they for-saw a cull in the next 5-10 years if numbers
continued to expand in the same way...

I'm about 20 miles from the release site, as the crow, sorry Red kite flies, I get them here too, at roof top height. ( between 4 & 6, that's numbers not time btwCan't get enough of these fabulous birds.
I've nothing against them, don't get me wrong, but I do wonder if the native carrion feeders are suffering?
Yes they **died out, and the re-introduction stock is from Spanish origin...To be fair, I thought they were native, originally.
