Six weeks of searching with one prior glimpse, then just as I was set up hoping for some more Goldcrest photos my first Firecrest pops in. They are real fast and never stay still so I was very happy to get a few shot before it pops off again.

My local pond is starting to thaw , so there is some water on top of the ice.
This goosander came into land thinking it was landing on water.
When it landed it slid for about 10 meters and hit a row of BHG and knocked them all over one by one.
Nature can be funny some times.

Annoying isn't it Jan, at the Knott Hide it came out and bathed and then jumped up onto the reeds to preen itself for about 10 minutes but the light was very disappointing
