Darren has just been, I was a jibbering wreck, Started filling up while trying to tell him stuff. You are all wonderful,Im off again now.

In that case, what does everyone think about using some of the money to treat Mrs Wheels and the kids to a little gift or a day out or something?
I second this, especially the day out. We get to see the pictures and get to share in their day out.

Love to, but I start my new Post at 1(UK)Div in Herford on Tuesday - might be a bit OTT to 'burglar-off' just after I arrive (even though I'm only here to do all my resettlement...lol)...

I think we'll manage to find someone with a camera to record the event for posterity...what are the chances, d'you think?

Reckon Darren might just be the ideal candidate for that now Rob... :naughty:

He already knows where Julian lives... :D

It's got to be done though... :cautious:

Enjoy Herford BTB... ;)

:p

Just sold the rucksack that I originally offered to donate so bunged another £20 in the kitty. (y)

Julian

My old compact camera is all boxed up and ready to post on Tuesday morning.
I hope your stroke group camera club is able to make use of it.

Enjoy your weekend.

All the best,
Daniel.

EDIT - you've nearly caught me up on post count, and I have been here for yonks ! :D

So many people to meet and thank. And If I can I will.

I have been following this thread since it started, and its really amazing to see the kindness of everyone on here! Have been at school all day waiting to come back and check up on this. Everything in this thread is truly inspirational!
At the moment I don't have my own internet banking set up, so I am unable to contribute :shake: But I would like to wish you all the best with your new camera, it is an awesome piece of kit! Keep us updated :)

PS- Welcome to TP :D

A score from me to a worthy cause, and big up to Rob for organising this.
As a fellow motorcylist and tog it makes me think how lucky I am.
You are an inspiration to us all whether you like it or not!

I'll donate as soon as I get home from work. Wheels - you are a very courageous chap. And much respect to your family and carers too.

Ooooh things are slowing down

Looks like all the donations aren't stopping people from heading to the pub after all!

Nick.

Sorry I can not donate any money:thumbsdown:, when it is organised I will go through my gear and donate something to wheels be it a memory card or something else.

Ive been following this thread and like everyone else I can't believe how many people are so willing to help. Top effort! I can't donate yet as my stupid card reader thing for BT is at my dads but ill happily send some over on monday!

Enjoy the new camera Wheels!

Wow, well done everyone.

Saw Wheels first post on this and thought we should do something - haven't been on for a day and a bit and look what has happened. Fantastic.

Well done Rob for starting this and all the effort - my donation by PP gift on it's way to you.

I've been feeling down in last 24 hrs having had some serious dentistry, including stitches in my mouth (at least it keeps me quiet), but by comparison Wheels you are one brave guy and deserve all the support from TP friends.

Take care Wheels and enjoy.

Ken

Which barracks Rob?

I was at Harewood myself when in Herford

Rob..have sent through a donation. Not much but all I can afford at the moment. Truly inspirational thread. Wheels..enjoy it mate, your thoroughly deserve all the blessings that come your way. Graeme

No only sport I like is moto gp

Yeh man!! GP is king!!
All I need now is for you to say your a Doctor Fan!! (y)

This thread just gets more & more amazing!
Hope to see you in the flesh soon Julian!!

chipped in with some PP, this is without a doubt one of the friendliest places on the internet.

Wheels, enjoy your new camera, you deserve it :)

If bike racing is your thing you should give the club racing at Oulton a go, they're as competitive as Moto GP
3 meetings soon, best bit is with the club meets there aren't as many spectators so you can drive around the whole circuit ( not actually on the track though) :D

26/6 Thundersport GB Club Bike Championship
10/7 Endurance Bike Championships
17/7 Derby Phoenix Club Bike Championship

Well Julian sure has had a rough time over it, lets hope that this helps in some way.

Anybody thinking that this might be a scam is quite a bit off the mark, he is clearly a genuine chap who has been dealt some bad cards.

Having spoken to him I think that THIS would be ideal.....

D300s
18-200
flash
Manfrotto 222 joystick head
External video screen attached to the D300s
Simple remote switch

Specially made bracket attached to the wheel chair and giving him a mount like the top of a tripod (on the right side)
Specially made bracket attached to the wheel chair and giving him a mount for the external screen and the flash (on the left side)

If we can get this lot sorted it will be perfect. Having the buttons separately for ISO, WB etc etc makes it easier for him to control it and also the metal body will be more hard wearing. The external screen will mean that it is always at the right angle for him to see.

Not sure if we would have enough for this lot and we need to find someone to make a couple of metal brackets.

Well if that's what's needed Darren, and more imprtantly - what Julian wants himself, then if we're a but short in the pot, I'm sure we can make it up. ;)

Well, there's £1907 in the kitty now (17.35 BST) so price it up and hassle our friendly Advertisers for a deal...

£1907 in less than 24 hours......... way to go guys and gals of TP.........

Am happy to go with that.

The generosity of people never ceases to amaze me. We have just finished adapting our bungalow to cope with the disabilities of my son ( multiple brain tumors, severe epilepsy, ADHD, Autisum and challenging behaviour...) and my wife (Multiple Sclerosis). We had to find over £30k to supplement the DFG and through the kind generosity of people and charities we got there.

A big (y) to all of TP who have helped and donated.

Nick
