I'm back Lindsay, albeit, briefly... I wondered what justification you had for making the statement that I had a "massive flounce?" A cheap and unwarranted shot with no justification! I saw posts had been removed the day before I asked for my profile to be deleted and wasn't remotely interested. Maybe you'd like to share how rude I was or how I complained when I asked for my profile to be deleted? No... because I was perfectly polite as I've always been to other members and admin on this forum and I can't even understand why you would think that having posts moved to another section would upset anyone.

As I had said in previous posts I was in the process of building my photography website and removing myself from social media. I had another massive flounce and removed myself from 500px and will be having another massive flounce and removing myself from Flickr very shortly too. So you see, I didn't need thinking time, and I won't be back under a new moniker. I would hope that as admin on this site you learn to be more circumspect and balanced in your future comments.

Well I've put my picture in for April. I've tried all sorts to get a picture of a bird trying to get a worm. Originally I dug a round hole in the ground with my GoPro in the bottom and baited the edge of the hole with seeds and things, hoping the bird would look down into the hole. I even tried putting a piece of glass over the hole and scattered seeds on the top -- absolutely nothing. During this time, a blackbird decided to make a nest in my greenhouse, amongst some plant pots on a shelf that luckily had slats in it. This is picture number 15,881 of about 17,000 that I've taken trying to get this bloody worm picture using my GoPro on interval timer. It's out of focus but then who said worms could focus!!

I am pleased to say that today, just thirteen days after hatching, all three of my blackbird chicks have fledged and left the greenhouse safely. The nest has been removed and close inspection reveals why they don't use the nest again as there were tiny maggots underneath, presumably living off the faeces. They have been fortunate in that the weather has not been warm during their growth period otherwise, despite me whitewashing the glass to keep the temperature down, I fear it would have become too hot for them and they would have perished. As it is, with the temperature about to rise significantly in the next few days, they have escaped just in time; I hope they all do well. However, please, don't nest in my greenhouse again, my garden has a thousand safer places for you.

Congrats @Norkie, personally I liked the creativity of your picture. Also really creative was @James306 ‘s picture, quite abstract.
@TimHughes the portrait was lovely! The green dress of the model as well as the unusual angle for a portrait is something new to me, excellent!

Cheers, it was a bit of an expedition to take it in the end! Removal of the bottom of a Tequila bottle, sourcing a tequila worm, run to the beach by Zodiac, treck up a secluded dry riverbed in the arse end of nowhere to find a cactus to then find a rattlesnake had followed us in the 10 minutes we were there :eek: Not many worms eye views to be had on a boat though so it had to be done :banana:

This month has seen the photography really squeezed out, but I managed to find something from our trip to France at the beginning of the month.
 
May is closed, and the poll will be up soon. Thanks for a bunch of great entries (I even managed to upload one myself on theme but I know it's not great, the subject was nice though).
 
Looking over the May entries, again, I'm blown away by the quality of so many.
I'm also a bit stunned by our new entrant to the challenge, @RyanB , who is looking to be in the running for the win this month, and at least getting well into the top half of the league table at the first entry! Well done Ryan. Spare a thought for a few of us who clearly have a long way to go to get to the standards being shown in May.

Many thanks Lindsay, kept seeing this comp/thread and thinking I should start trying my luck but always forgetting to enter. There are always some top class shots on here so very happy to receive any votes. Hopefully I will continue getting the time to get out with the camera and keep up with future months. :)
