Why not for studio stuff then?
Because I use the focus lock beep on the shutter button, helps a model know when not to blink [emoji6]
Why not for studio stuff then?
Thank you all, going to give it a go.
For some reason the photos I am taking are not as sharp as I think they should be. I have done the af fine tune on the lens and use focus and recompose, so must be a user error.
There also the shutter speed for the subject your taking. Is the subject still like if it windy or the person moving. There also steady hands while holding the camera etc
What are you shooting?Thank you all, going to give it a go.

Shutter speed is fast enough, I was using studio lights. Shutter speed was 1/200, ISO 100, f8 and they eyes are not as sharp as they should.

Are you using af-c or af- s.
Bbf I would of thought wouldn't be the issue here personally from my vage understanding of it all.

Af-s
The main purpose of BBF is to save you having to switch from AF-S to AF-C so if you're doing a shoot where you need both it can save time. Basically you set it to AF-C and if you want the AF-C you can just keep your thumb on the AEL/AFON button, and if you want AF-S you can focus with the AEL/AFON button and then release it for times you want to focus recompose etc.Bbf won't really help with that issue then. As I think from my understanding is using bbf is more benifical really on afc when shooting moving stuff. I could be completely wrong again
Plus it's easy to go to manual focus (using an AF-S lens). One set up, three focusing methods. The main purpose of BBF is to save you having to switch from AF-S to AF-C so if you're doing a shoot where you need both it can save time. Focus beep doesn’t work with AF-CI use Focus lock beep and BBF
Ah yes I think your right, doh meFocus beep doesn’t work with AF-C
I use Focus lock beep and BBF
I use it for AF-S shooting, but most of my shooting is AF-C.Does anyone else use it all the time, annoys the hell out of me.
Anyway, Toby summed up a better definition of BBF.

Is there an idiot's guide on how to setup U1 and U2 settings?I use U1 for everyday, grab and gun in an instant settings, and U2 set up for studio -simples.
Isn't that the point
Why do some Sony owners say such silly things.
So they can go on my ignore list. Why do some Sony owners say such silly things.
Is that me lol
Surprisingly not
Is there an idiot's guide on how to setup U1 and U2 settings?
So that U1 has bbf and U2 has normal button af.
Also what other settings have you got setup on each of your settings, please can you share if you don't mind.
Thank you
It is a great camera. Just be aware that past circa 520mm only limited AF points work on Nikon’s 153 point AF system. My new GAS arrived today, D500, 1st try with the Tamron 150-600 and my god it makes all the difference, cant wait to try it out with some macro / close up also.
Thanks and yes I think you did mention that once before, glad things are already setup out of the box like BBF and focus spot selection on the little ok button. It is a great camera. Just be aware that past circa 520mm only limited AF points work on Nikon’s 153 point AF system.
Tell you what boys and girls, I am pretty well chuffed with this lens! It's been a long time since I've had extra length..
I was sceptical about all that glass to move and whether fast kids would be too much for it, but..
Not really a flower snapper but hey..(pretty much SOOC so colours as lens)
Can't wait for the bluebells....
What a weekend! 3 bluebell shoots with two year olds is a tough task especially given that the light is really best at bedtime for them. The 135 is simply awesome, loving it!!! So much processing to do, but here's a quick taster of a shot that I love..
