Nikon D750 & D780

Might have just gone and bought the Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2 as someone offered at a decent price.

Means I have my other Tamron 70-200 2.8 to sell :LOL:

Think I might sell the Tamron 70-200 2.8, 50mm 1.8 and 24-120mm f4 and get tamron 24-70 2.8 G2 so that I have the small family.

Keep the 50!

Hmmm maybe. I do like it. Not sure I’d use it if I had 24-70 2.8 though, that’s the predicament!

The 24-70 is heavy. I find the 50mm is just nice to have if you want to go out nice and light!

I like how you compared carrying a baby to a washing machine

D750 is nice and light anyway, so a 24-70 only adds up to a moderate weight :D

Edit, that doesn’t mean I don’t have a 50mm 1.8 though

Haha sleep deprevation makes the mind work in mysterious ways.

Grrrrrrrrr they ain't heavy. Lifting around a 16 week old baby is heavy. Carrying a washing machine out of a van is heavy.

Carrying around a d750 with a lens on a decent strap isn't heavy.

And exhale and relax

I meant heavy compared to the 50mm! My main lens is the 70-200.

Chill out!!!!!!

I think the 50mm is just a nice compact light lens to have!

Although my friends had a small baby that is actually lighter than my D750 with 70-200, but you are right, a washing machine is just no comparison weight wise to a camera lens.

And you should never lift a washing machine on your own. It’s not good for your health!

I know exactly what you mean. One night when my daughter was around 2-3 months old she started crying in the middle of the night, in my semi-conscious state I asked my partner “can you hear a baby?” I’d forgotten I even had a daughter

:ROFLMAO:

How many of you use the back button focus on the D750?

Thank you

I don’t, I tend to keep it for AF-L and AE-L. I like shooting brenizer method panos for couples because they always go down well, that function is handier than back button focusing for me :)

Even when I did have both buttons I still didn’t tend to use it. One thing that is a little annoying about switching it onto the AF-L/AE-L button is that is disables the shutter for focusing, my other Nikon’s have been in addition to rather than instead of

Haha comparing the 50mm. Tea bags are heavier than my 50mm 1.8d

I'm chill mate it's all banter.

The heavy lens discussion has been going on since time began on here lol.

All the time. Love it. So much easier I find

I don’t but never really tried!

Another thing added to the list of things to do!

1. Use RAW more
2. Assign FN buttons
3. Buy lenses
4. Try back button focus

You will always use it cause it's there lol

True. But with the D750 I am likely to have a bag with me so my thinking is that I’d probably hardly ever use the 50. I still have the 18-35mm G as well which is nice and light.

Maybe I will keep it though!

Tbh I've got the 50mm 1.8d which I got off here second hand when I had my d90 i think it cost me 30 or 40 quid so it's a no brainer.

So those indoor horse shots you tinkered with were they shot in jpeg?

Buy more lenses hahaha mate I think you have owned nearly the whole nikon range at one point lol (joking)

Back button focusing could make a big difference on your jumping horse pics.
They won't as good as the oof stuff from that other bloke :):):):)

Isn't that the point

I never used BBF on the D750 as the AEL button wasn't in a natural place for me. On the D850 the AFON button feels more natural, but I still don't use it anyway

Yeah all jpeg lol

I currently own 2 Nikon lenses! One is a keeper and one is for sale!

Definitely swap to raw for those indoor shots.

Oh you mean lenses to keep. Haha

Haha yes lenses! The 70-200 is just what I use most of the time but it does occasionally need some friends haha!

I think you will a major difference in the photo outputs after Lightroom or ps if you shoot in raw mate. So much more adjustment and recoverable data available

Yep will try it next outing!

Thank you all, going to give it a go.

For some reason the photos I am taking are not as sharp as I think they should be. I have done the af fine tune on the lens and use focus and recompose, so must be a user error.
