The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Anyone use a small padded case for the X100 series?

It doesn't have to be expensive, custom or fashionable. It's just to put the camera in whilst it's loose in a backpack etc just to offer a bit of knock & scratch protection.
I am sure I have used one of the larger ones of these for my xe1 + 27mm.
I just don’t have it with me down in Devon to check right now.

These look like they'd do the job, although I don't think they're the cheapest option:

EDIT: just noticed that apart from the small ones, they're out of stock.

Adashino Nenbutsuji - A Buddhist temple built on the outskirts of Kyoto to honour the nameless dead. It was built in an area where people used to abandon bodies of those who couldn't afford funerals or had no next of kin etc.

When I took this shot, I didn't know that you weren't supposed to photograph the main area. There are over 8000 "Jizo" statues there, which each get a lit candle during a festival in August - I imagine that looks amazing!

There's a little bamboo grove towards the rear, similar to the one in Arashiyama only without the crowds. The path through it led through to another graveyard which we soon realised was for all the children who had been left in the area.

It's a strange place. On the one hand it's full of sorrow for these poor nameless souls, and on the other hand it feels like there's a strong sense of togetherness.

I've started using Astia rather than Classic Chrome for most of my shots; I like that it's more vivid, but it doesn't make everyone look super-pink like Velvia sometimes can. I'm still using the "Reggie's Portra" recipe that I posted in here a few pages back; just changed the film simulation and left all the other settings the same.

Got the chance to test it with some amateur models at the weekend.
All X-T4 & XF 16-80mm, with a K&F 1/8 black mist filter.

They've certainly got some "pop" to them (y)

Anyone thinking of selling a fuji 80mm macro lens in the near future as I'm thinking of buying one..
I'm in no big rush so feel free to pm me although obviously any transactions have to be done via the proper forum rules and I may be tempted to buy one from mpb if you don't rush to reply to this post...

Took the X-Pro1 out this evening for a little wander, I'm working away from home for a couple of days, so its often good to get out for a couple of hours in the eveing, rather than vegitating in a hotel room (or bar!). All taken with the 35mm F1.4 which in my hands appears to be stuck at F1.4 :)

And finally the view from my hotel (pub bedroom), when you are footing the bill youself (its my own business), swanky hotel rooms are not the order of the day, any room with a decent bed will do! I did leave booking a room until about 4:30 this afternoon so the choices were limited :D

F1.4. It’s the Law isn’t it ?

Anyone moved from the 16mm f1.4 to the 18mm f1.4 at all.

Toying with making the move for the extra sharpness to make the most of the XT-5.

No one selling? I've got a wanted thread in the classifieds if you are but I'm getting closer to looking at what Wex and mpb have in stock..

The entrance to Meiji Jingu, a shrine nestled in Yoyogi Park, right in the middle of Tokyo. Harajuku station is just out of frame to the right.

It's a strange place. This was shot early in the morning but this area is usually bustling. Once you step through that gate however, all the noise of the city drops away rapidly, the air feels cooler, and the sound of wind and birds in the trees takes over.
After a rough night in a hotel at heathrow, a 15 hour flight, airport transfer, hotel check in, and a quick walk around the busy area of Asakusa, we were exhausted, sleep deprived, culture shocked, and jetlagged.
This is where we went the following morning. The serenity was exactly what we needed to get our heads together, and recover before setting off on our busy 3 week Itinerary.

X100VI arrives on Friday. I have a Leica Q3 already (which replaced my X100V). It’s going to be an interesting few weeks to see which one I keep (if not both).
Gotta say. I didn’t see that coming. You make the Leica sing Andy.

It has arrived. I’ve had an X100S, V and now VI. It is absolutely gorgeous.

More svelte than the Q3 by some margin. Menus are a confusing mess and too complex. Haven’t taken any pictures yet, just busy setting everything up how I like it.

Cool :)

I'm still on the fence about getting one or just sticking with the F for a while longer.

What I really need to do is have a weekend away with just the F and my film camera..... But I just can't not take the Sony kit for those dedicated sunrise and sunset shoots!

I had the F, It's a big step up from that but just as much fun.
